The Epistemology of Archaeology

I've been spending a fair amount of time recently looking at instances of large scale systemic transformation -- both 'progressive' (e.g., the agricultural or industrial revolutions) and 'regressive' (e.g., the types of thing that Jared Diamond labels Collapse). Reconstructing what happened in many of these cases turns on archaeological evidence. The following clip, a retrospective about the Beatles set in the year 3000, provides a humerous take on the reliability of reconstructions of events from the distant past. Enjoy!
